Professional Background: Esteemed consultant and heat pump system designer with extensive experience in ground source energy since the 1990s.
Certifications: From the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Distinguished as one of the UK’s Certified Geoexchange Designers.

Leadership in Industry: A key founding member of the UK’s Ground Source Heat Pump Association and former chairman of its training and standards committee, Andy has been instrumental in shaping industry standards after writing the GSHPA Vertical Borehole Standards in 2011.

Hex Energy Founding: Established Hex Energy to address the gap in quality installation services and enhance the performance of residential heat pump systems, ensuring innovative and effective solutions in the industry.

Matt Collins has joined Hex Energy as Managing Director to help sustainably grow the business.

Matt has years of experience working in commercial environments with blue chip organisations operating and refurbishing real estate.

Matt also has great experience operating and growing businesses, leading large teams across a number of sectors.

Jack leads our domestic services team taking on a variety of roles from concept to completion of all of the domestic properties with regards to the following systems GSHP, ASHP, WSHP, PV Systems, UFH and MVHR installations.

He ensures all domestic projects are completed to a high standard and navigates our team of engineers while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.

Jack has years of experience working within the industry which has made him an asset to the Hex team.

Simon has been involved in ground and air source energy in various design and sales based roles since first entering the industry over a decade ago.

At Hex Energy, working closely with Andy, he is responsible for undertaking building load calculations, ground loop designs, underfloor heating designs and PV optimisation.

Simon is keen to apply an energy efficiency and sustainable ethos to our projects to achieve a considered, designed approach. He also keeps up to date with government policy on renewables and currently available incentives for our customers.

Following his degree in Mechanical engineering Michael set his sights on creating domestic heat pump designs at Hex Energy.

He is Hex’s domestic estimator and design engineer working closely with Jack to supply high level designs to a range of customers projects. Michael is involved in the design, specification and pricing of domestic jobs.

Steph began doing administration and accounts for Andy’s business over ten years ago as general office admin, however her role has developed significantly over time.

Steph now has a very varied role at Hex Energy and deals with everything related to administration and accounts including raising purchase orders, client invoices, dealing with supplier invoices and payments along with company payroll, pension and HR matters.
Steph also ensures that all vehicles remain serviced, taxed, insured and with MOTs and also maintains the training and certification for all of our employees.

Having recently graduated with a degree in Politics and International relations Taylor has joined the Hex team as a Sales executive.

Having grown up in the business she has a keen interest in renewable energy and the best tailored solutions for different projects. Taylor is the first contact customers have with Hex taking on domestic and commercial sales. Alongside her varied sales role she is also head of social media and marketing.

Les has been involved in the Ground Source Energy industry for over 15 years after leaving the military and working as a Water Supply Specialist and Drilling Engineer for Andy covering drilling and geothermal projects worldwide.

His experience in drilling for water was easily transferred to the specialist drilling of ground source systems used here at Hex Energy.

Les has adapted his skills over many years in the industry progressing from drilling related roles to full site supervision of open and closed loop drilling projects, trench and lake loop systems. Les also deals with commercial large-scale open loop pump installs and also commercial maintenance, monitoring and optimisation of controls.

Luke has built a career in facilities management, starting as a multi-skilled engineer before moving into supervisory roles where he managed large contracts. He has led projects across the UK, overseeing system upgrades and installations, always ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion. Now, as Repairs and Maintenance Manager at Hex Energy, Luke manages heat pump servicing, maintenance, and replacement, contributing to the growing renewable energy sector.

Ryan is the Head of Commercial Operations at Hex Energy, brings a wealth of expertise with his background in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, gained both in the UK and overseas. His extensive experience spans large-scale residential projects, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and high-rise buildings. Additionally, he has worked on projects for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), making him highly knowledgeable in MEP building services across various sectors.
